Scarlet Pleasure: Windy + Venus

Singer Emil Goll, bassist Alexander Malone and drummer Joachim Dencker make up Danish trio Scarlet Pleasure. The excellent first single "Windy" will be included on their debut seven-song EP, to be released later this year.

In the intimate second video Goll gets to truly showcase his golden voice as he performs the sublime classic Motown-meets-George Michael song "Venus", greatly aided by Malone's James Jamerson-style bass lines and Dencker's solid beat as well as the keyboard playing/harmony vocals provided by the mystery man recruited for the occasion.

They'll be performing at Lille Vega in the Copenhagen borough of Vesterbro on June 26.

The realease date for Lana Del Rey's third album 'Ultraviolence' (produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys) has yet to be announced, but the first single dropped yesterday. The excellent "West Coast" track does not disappoint; unfortunately we'll have to wait for the full video. There is a string of North American and European concert dates scheduled between tonight and late August, many of which are summer festival gigs, including NorthSide in Århus, Denmark on June 13.

Nirvana: Smells Like Teen Spirit

Kurt Cobain, age 2 at his aunt Mari's house.

It's been 20 years since Kurt Cobain died at the age of 27, but like all great artists he lives on through his creative output.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" dropped on September 10, 1991 as the first single off of Nirvana's second album 'Nevermind."  The video by Samuel Bayer was shot on a sound stage in L.A. and captures the energy of the track thanks to the extras being allowed to let loose after spending hours waiting in their seats.

Some songs sound dated the second they are recorded. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" however is of the timeless kind, i.e. as powerful and brilliant as when it was created.

BEA: Breadwinner

Very little info is available about the sound artist Bea Anubis aka BEA: she is 22 years old, Dutch, born to British parents. Her fellow Amsterdam creative, visual performance artist Piet Langevold (who shot the in-the-bathtub publicity photo) is said to be working on a video for BEA.

Meanwhile we can enjoy the sublime track entitled "Breadwinner" which can now be downloaded from the artist's Soundcloud page. (click on icon in the top right corner, below the Soundcloud logo.)
