British singer-songwriter Jasmine van den Bogaerde aka Birdy (a nickname since childhood) began writing music when she was 8, won the Open Mic UK talent contest at age 12, and saw her debut album released in 2011, the year she turned 15.
In early 2011 two Australians, singer/producer Isaac Emmanuel and musician/photographer Michael Italia formed the very cosmopolitan trio Young Magic with vocalist Melati Malay, born in Indonesia, now a resident of Brooklyn, NY where the band is currently based.
The band's full-length vinyl LP debut 'Melt' was released in the UK/Europe/North America last month and drops in Australia + Asia on March 30; it was made by collecting and recording sounds in Tepoztlán, Melbourne, New York City, Mexico City, Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Bristol, Antwerp, Rome, Palermo, Granada, Asuncion, Reykjanesbaer, Rio De Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and Iguazu.
The stunning video, directed by Dylan Wiehan, was pieced together from hours of time-lapse footage shot on the East Coast of Australia.
